Software. I first came across this software on a yacht in Fort
Lauderdale that we were doing computer network and other work on. It
has the capability of working across the computer network, in other
words the main database can be installed and stored on, for example,
your Bridge Office Computer, and be accessed by your Engineer and other
crew (different levels of access if desired) from their own office or
work space. All over the wired or wireless network. The engineer on the
yacht I worked on liked it so much and it had stopped working so one of
my jobs was to find out how it works and fix it. It wasn't too
difficult. I've now installed it on several computers onboard for them
as crew changed and computers were changed as well in the process.
Which brings up some of the big benefits of IDEAVIO. Training crew and
crew change overs. You can cover a majority of training and crew
changeover all from one place on one computer. Keep track of crew
information too and crew member photos and documents. This is much more
graceful and organized than using Windows folders where it is often
very difficult to find things.

can be very positive, as far as the resale price of the vessel is
concerned.
· A computer-based
Safety-Management-System (SMS) can safe a lot of time and paper work if
you choose or have to comply to the ISM code.

or temporary crew up to date with current information about the ship’s
